Author of six books and  two musicals!

Our June author is Dr. Kimerer LaMothe. Kimerer is an author, philosopher, playwright, dancer, and mother of five (ages 12 to 25). She is the author of six books, two musicals, and over 100 posts for her blog at Psychology Today. Formerly on the faculty of Harvard University, she and her partner followed a dream in 2005, and moved to the country to make art. Since then, Kimerer has explored the power of writing in multiple genres, including literary non-fiction, family memoir, blog posts, as well as musical theater. Drawing on her experiences as a writer, dancer, and mother, she has created an original philosophy of movement, detailed in her book Why We Dance (Columbia University Press, 2015). She is currently working on a young adult novel.
